Anzac Biscuits

Anzac biscuits are a sweet, golden-brown biscuit traditionally made with rolled oats, flour, sugar, butter, golden syrup, and baking soda, with optional coconut. They are popular in Australia and New Zealand, and are particularly associated with Anzac Day (April 25th), which commemorates the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The biscuits were historically sent to soldiers during World War I because their ingredients kept well during long sea voyages.
